Leveling
Below is a general outline of the age groups each level consists of. As students get older the ages in each level overlap in order to allow for appropriate placement according to both age and technical proficiency.
Tots Rock: Ages 2-4
Level 1: Ages 4-6
Level 2: Ages 5-8
Level 3: Ages 7-10
Level 4: Ages 9-13
Level 5: Ages 11-16
Level 6: Ages 14-18
Level 7: Ages: 16-18
Types of Classes
Jazz: An energetic dance form that explores a variety of rhythms and styles while still focusing on technique

Ballet: The elegant, classical style of dance that places high importance on technique and discipline.
Pointe: Ballet but with a harder shoe so that dancers can dance on top of their toes.
Tap: Highlights the importance of rhythm and sound. Dancing while also making music with your feet!
Hip-Hop: A high energy class that uses upbeat tempos and more freestyle type of movement.
Lyrical: A blend between ballet and jazz technique that focuses on telling a story.
Contemporary: Similar to lyrical but with less technical restrictions.
Tots Rock: Upbeat creative movement class for children just beginning their dance experience.
Specialty Classes: Classes such as improvisation, tumbling & flexibility, strength & conditioning, pom, and turns & tricks will take time to focus on those specific aspects of dance.
Protégé Company: An exciting opportunity for our more committed dancers! This company is by audition only and works with all styles of dance and provides extra performance opportunities for students. Ask Liz for more info!
